Century Small Cap Select (the Fund) is a no-load mutual fund that
seeks long-term growth of capital for its clients. The Fund seeks to
achieve its investment objective by investing primarily in companies
with small market capitalizations that exhibit attractive growth and
valuation characteristics through a diversified portfolio of common
and preferred stocks, and securities convertible into common stock.
In constructing the Fund’s portfolio, the Adviser primarily follows
a “bottom-up” approach to portfolio construction, including meeting with
company management, creating proprietary earnings models and analyzing the
fundamental merits of each individual stock. The Adviser typically seeks
out companies whose stock prices do not adequately reflect their potential
rate of growth in revenues, earnings, market share, dividends or book value.
In selecting securities, the Adviser focuses on factors affecting a company’s
growth potential, financial strength and underlying value, including, for example,
the quality of a company’s management, amount of its operating costs, size of its
profit margins and its product innovations.
